One of the standout features of the EMIT 20 is its powerful midrange and bass response. It is equipped with an 18 cm diameter woofer made from Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP), a material developed in-house and used for many of our most acclaimed speakers. The membrane is crafted from a single piece, integrating the dust cap into the playback surface, which creates a solid connection to the voice coil. This stable connection ensures optimum control and outstanding detail in the low and mid-frequency ranges.

The voice coil is made from aluminum, wound onto a fiberglass coil former. We have long utilized aluminum wire in our voice coils for good reason; it is extremely lightweight and can efficiently respond to the finest signals. This design allows for more windings on the former using a given length of wire, which translates to increased electromagnetic force (BL), resulting in a more powerful sound reproduction.

To approach the ideal sound quality, we coat the aluminum wire with copper. The stacked ferrite magnet system and the new surround provide the perfect framework for the long-throw woofer of the EMIT 20, which impressively maintains full bass power at high volumes without losing control over the midrange frequencies where vocals and instruments such as guitars and violins reside.

Additionally, the EMIT 20 features a high-performance tweeter known as the Cerotar, carried over from our Evoke series. This 28 mm textile dome tweeter includes our renowned Hexis inner dome, ensuring silky, present highs.
